As a family-run business based in Salisbury, serving the community, we have the knowledge and expertise to offer a variety of funeral styles.  These include the Direct Cremation Service, the Classic Funeral, Bespoke Funeral and Premium Funeral Package.

We are proud to offer an experienced, friendly and personal service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.  We are always available on the telephone.  We cater to the wishes of all, from those wanting the Direct Cremation Service to the Classic Funeral, a churchyard burial to one in a woodland setting. 

Here at Darren MacDonald Funeral Directors we have a dedicated team of experts on hand to assist you through this difficult time.  We understand each family has their own way of handling bereavement and that the funeral should be as unique as the person who has died.  We are here to guide you every step of the way, offering advice on the arrangements you need to make.  This can be done at our office or in the comfort of your own home.  

We realise how important the memory of the final farewell to a loved one is. Using experience gained over many years, we will help you make the necessary decisions with compassion.  If you require some general advice please feel free to contact us by phone, email or call in to our premises.

Some firms will not always inform you of all the fees that may be incurred until after the funeral.  Do ensure you are fully aware of all the costs before you enter any agreement with your funeral director.   As a small family firm we have the advantage of keeping our costs low for everyone and have signed the Fair Funerals Pledge.  Our most straight-forward Direct Cremation Service is charged at £1,495.

Richard Adlem MBE - Handley Funerals

Richard Adlem MBE, Funeral Director, who organised the burials of former Prime Minister, Anthony Eden and author, Terry Pratchett, has joined forces with Darren MacDonald in Salisbury.

Whilst running his business in Sixpenny Handley, Dorset for more than half-a-century, he has organised ceremonies for many of the great and the good in the area.  He conducted the funerals of Royal Photographer, Sir Cecil Beaton and flight-refuelling pioneer, Sir Michael Cobham.

However, Richard, a lifelong bachelor, said he now wanted to pass the  company on to somebody who would keep the goodwill of his name going.
